School Policies
Policies & Procedures
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- We follow a “5 minutes before, 5 minutes after” rule: children should arrive no more than five minutes before class begins and be picked up no later than five minutes after class ends.
- This helps maintain smooth transitions between classes and supports a consistent, reassuring routine for the children.
- Parents must walk their child to and from the classroom door each day.
- If someone other than you is picking up your child, please notify the front desk or teacher ahead of time.
Parking Lot Safety
- The parking lot is especially busy during drop-off and pick-up. For everyone’s safety:
- Drive slowly and stay alert for children.
- Hold your child’s hand in the parking lot.
- Do not use your phone while driving or while dropping off/picking up.
- Turn off your car engine before walking your child into the building.
Personal Belongings
- Please label all jackets, coats, and personal items.
- Children should bring their Learning Dynamics bag each day.
Show & Tell
- 3–4-year-old classes: Show & Tell happens every class day.
- 4–5-year-old classes: Show & Tell is held on the first class day of each week.
- Children may bring one item only.
- Please do not send pets (due to allergy concerns).
- No toy weapons, please.
Tuition
- Tuition is due by the 5th of each month.
- You may pay: In person at the front desk (please write your child’s name on the check).

- We do not send monthly statements.
- Please do not send payments in your child’s LD bag.
- Credit is not given for absences or holidays.
- Missed class materials will be saved for your child and can be completed at home.
Birthdays
- We’re happy to celebrate your child’s birthday (or unbirthday for summer birthdays) at school!
- You may send 13 wrapped treats (no homemade or baked goods, please).
- No foods containing nuts due to allergy concerns.
Illness Policy
Please keep your child home if they show any signs of illness before school, including:
- Fever of 100.4°F or higher
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Pink eye or eye discharge
- Unusual irritability or not acting like themselves
- Any other symptoms of illness
If your child has a fever, they must stay home until they’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine.
Each classroom has a thermometer. If a teacher suspects your child may be unwell, we’ll check their temperature. If it’s over 100.4°F, we’ll remove them from class and give you a call right away.
We know that coughs can sometimes linger even after the illness has passed. If your child is otherwise feeling well and has a mild, dry cough, they’re probably ready to come back. However, if the cough is wet, croupy, or persistent with other symptoms, they should still stay home.
If your child misses class due to illness, we’ll set aside their papers and save any missed concepts so they can catch up easily when they return.
Behavior & Self-Management
- We use positive reinforcement and age-appropriate redirection to help children learn classroom expectations.
- Our “I Can Manage Myself” (ICMM) approach encourages personal responsibility and respect.
